Accounts:
Nothing new to report. Finances remain healthy.
Invoices etc:
Any invoices/delivery notes/statements related to the Club are to be attached to the clip in the cellar, awaiting the attention of the Treasurer.
1583 Maintenance Manager’s Report:
Canopy Roof: MG
The plastic roof on the canopy overlooking the green is in a poor state. However, the large profile of the existing covering is no longer available, therefore it has been decided that the whole will need to be replaced. Mr Gillen is to research prices for suitable materials with the view to completing the work prior to the new bowling season.
New Storage Facility: MG
The new building is now fitted with power and light. In addition, guttering has been erected and waterproofing applied to the outer wall surfaces. Damp inside the building will be monitored and, once it is considered to have dried out, shelving will be erected and the floor painted to keep down cement dust.
1584 Bar Report/Advertising Boards:
Nothing new to report.
1585 Bowling Secretary’s Report:
AGMs:
There were a few new rules raised at the meetings. The Furness league have voted that all matches are to be played according to the fixture list – the only exception will be ‘bad weather’.
In the Ulverston league two teams, Red River & Lindal ‘A’, will be back in.
1586 Fund Raising/Social Events:
Coffee Morning: JG/JH
Tickets for the next coffee morning are going well. The event will take place on Saturday 5th December from 9 to 11.30am. Tickets are £1, available behind the bar or from Mrs Garner and Mrs J Hewitt.
1587 H&S Issues:
Nothing new to report.
1588 Any Other Business:
Lighting: AC
Better lighting for the ‘stage area’ was discussed, since the current downlights do not illuminate the artists well. It was proposed to add some spotlights, of the same type as fitted to light up the dartboard. These will be unobtrusive enough and can be easily fitted forward of the archway. The proposal was agreed and therefore a suitable system is to be ordered.
